How to convey the meaning of the translation correctly

The main goal of a translator is to accurately and correctly convey the idea and meaning from one language to another including latin to english. During translation, a number of problems very often arise that cause inaccurate interpretation of the idea and ambiguity. The translation process is a laborious process that affects many areas of human knowledge, which is an additional difficulty.

Each language has a unique structure. The structure of a language is directly related to the level of accuracy and ease of translation. The simpler the language, the easier it is to translate it into another language.

The most common translation error is literalization. Literalism should be understood as a mistake when translating from another language. The main problem is that instead of the appropriate meaning of the word, the simplest and most common meaning is used. In the general sense of the word, literalism is a gross error of the translator. It lies in the difficulty of conveying a phrase, the semantic components of a word or phrase, risking information and the meaning of the phrase itself.

Many novice translators translate text verbatim. The main causes of literal translation problems are:

lack of time or lack of desire to analyze the meaning, document, terminology, source text;
lack of experience of the translator;
low level of knowledge of the translator with culture and tradition, word usage.
As a result, the translation becomes incomprehensible and unreadable for the reader. The most common mistakes are made in translating words that have multiple meanings, depending on the context. These words include: terms, ambiguous words and fixed expressions.

Also, mistakes in translation may arise due to insufficient knowledge of the translator in the field of grammar of a foreign language. To avoid mistakes, a good translator should be familiar with the culture, history and tradition of the native or foreign languages. If a translator is not so good at both languages, his success is at stake.

The translator should not forget that the reader wants to see the idea of a foreign author in their own language.
